2026 Ford F-350 Trim Levels Compared
If you’re shopping for a 2026 Ford Super Duty F-350 around Norton, Barberton, or Akron, chances are you already know you need more truck than the average half-ton can provide.
The harder question is which F-350 actually makes sense.
A truck headed to jobsites every morning doesn’t necessarily need the same interior as one pulling a fifth-wheel on long trips. And someone buying an F-350 for a business may care a lot more about payload and upfit flexibility than leather seats or premium audio.
That’s why the trim matters.
For 2026, the Ford F-350 lineup includes five trims:
- XL
- XLT
- Lariat
- King Ranch
- Platinum
There’s no Limited trim for 2026. Ford now tops the regular F-350 lineup with Platinum, with additional packages available depending on how you want the truck equipped.
F-350 XL: Built to Work
The XL keeps things pretty straightforward.
If the truck is going to spend its life hauling equipment, towing trailers, working around a property, or becoming part of a fleet, there’s a lot to like about starting here.
You still get the heavy-duty F-350 platform, a 10-speed automatic transmission, SYNC 4, integrated box side steps and rear bumper steps, along with a long list of available work and towing equipment.
The interior is intentionally simpler than the trims above it. For a lot of commercial buyers, that’s actually the point.
The XL also gives you plenty of room to build the truck around the job rather than paying for comfort features that may not matter once it’s covered in work boots and tools.
If you’re shopping for a business, our commercial vehicle inventory is worth checking alongside our regular new inventory.
F-350 XLT: A Little Easier to Live With Every Day
The XLT is where the F-350 starts feeling less like a dedicated fleet truck and more like something you might want to drive every day.
You get cloth seating, a brighter exterior look, SYNC 4 with an 8-inch center screen, and more available comfort and driver-assistance features.
That can be a nice middle ground for a contractor or business owner who needs the truck during the week but doesn’t want to climb into a bare work cab every morning.
The XLT is also where a lot of buyers start adding packages. If there are two or three specific things you want — heated seats, towing technology, a certain appearance package — it may make more sense to option an XLT than jump straight to the next trim.
F-350 Lariat: More Comfort Without Losing the Work Truck
The Lariat changes the feel of the F-350 pretty noticeably.
Inside, you move up to a 12-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen, a 12-inch digital cluster, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, a B&O audio system, and power-adjustable ActiveX-trimmed front seats. A 360-degree camera is also part of the Lariat equipment.
Those upgrades matter if you’re spending a lot of time in the truck.
Think about someone towing equipment between jobs around Summit County, running a farm, or driving several hours at a time with a trailer behind them. After a while, the extra comfort and better camera views stop feeling like luxuries and start feeling genuinely useful.
For a lot of owner-operators, Lariat is probably the point where capability and comfort balance out nicely.
F-350 King Ranch: The Distinctive One
King Ranch has always done its own thing.
Rather than simply adding more technology, it gives the Super Duty a completely different personality with unique leather, trim, badging, and interior details.
It also adds more trailering technology, including a 360-degree camera, Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, trailer reverse guidance, and a head-up display.
If you like the Western-inspired look, there really isn’t another trim in the lineup that feels quite the same.
It’s still an F-350 underneath all of that. You’re just getting a much nicer place to spend the day.
F-350 Platinum: The Top of the Line
Platinum sits at the top of the 2026 F-350 trim lineup.
This is the truck for someone who needs Super Duty capability but doesn’t want the interior to feel like commercial equipment.
You’ll find things like premium leather seating, heated and ventilated front seats, power-deployable running boards, a 12-inch center screen, head-up display, and upgraded B&O audio. Ford also offers additional Platinum-level packages if you want to take the interior and equipment even further.
Does everyone who needs an F-350 need a Platinum? Of course not.
But if this truck is replacing both a work vehicle and your everyday vehicle, it starts to make more sense.
What Engines Are Available in the 2026 F-350?
This is where choosing an F-350 can get more interesting than simply picking a trim.
Ford offers four engines for the 2026 Super Duty lineup:
- 6.8L gas V8
- 7.3L gas V8
- 6.7L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel
- High-Output 6.7L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel
The 6.8L gas V8 makes 405 horsepower. The 7.3L gas V8 moves that up to 430 horsepower, while the standard 6.7L Power Stroke produces 475 horsepower. The High-Output diesel reaches 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque.
Diesel isn’t automatically the right choice simply because you’re shopping for an F-350.
If you tow heavy trailers frequently or rack up a lot of working miles, it may be worth the added cost. For other buyers, one of the gas V8s may do everything they need while keeping the initial purchase simpler.
Tell us what the truck will actually be pulling and carrying. That’s a much better place to start.
How Much Can a 2026 Ford F-350 Tow?
This is also where it pays to look at the actual truck rather than a headline number.
For 2026, properly configured F-350 dual-rear-wheel models can reach up to 38,000 pounds of available gooseneck towing capacity. Conventional towing can reach as high as 28,000 pounds on certain F-350 configurations. Exact ratings depend on engine, axle ratio, cab, drivetrain, wheel configuration, equipment, passengers, and cargo.
Payload varies just as much. Ford’s 2026 specifications show properly configured F-350 DRW models reaching more than 7,700 pounds of maximum payload.
So if your purchase depends on moving a specific trailer or load, bring us the numbers. We can help you look at the rating for the truck you’re actually considering rather than assuming every F-350 can handle the model maximum.
What About the Tremor Package?
Tremor is a package, not a separate F-350 trim.
It adds off-road-focused equipment for buyers who need a Super Duty that spends time away from pavement. One useful change for 2026 is that Ford now allows the Tremor Off-Road Package to be paired with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel.
That can make it interesting for someone who needs diesel towing capability during the week but also regularly deals with muddy jobsites, rough access roads, hunting property, or other places where a standard road setup isn’t ideal.
2026 F-350 Trims at a Glance
| Trim | What It’s Best At |
|---|---|
| XL | Fleet, commercial work and straightforward capability |
| XLT | Work use with a little more everyday comfort |
| Lariat | A strong mix of work capability, technology and comfort |
| King Ranch | Premium features with distinctive Western styling |
| Platinum | The most upscale F-350 in the regular 2026 lineup |
That’s really the easiest way to look at it. You don’t have to climb the trim ladder simply because you have the budget. Start with what you actually need the truck to do.
F-250 or F-350?
If you’re still deciding between the two, don’t automatically assume bigger is better.
The F-350 becomes especially useful when payload, trailer weight, dual-rear-wheel availability, or certain heavy-duty configurations start pushing beyond what makes sense in an F-250.
If your needs are more moderate, the F-250 may give you all the capability you need without moving into an F-350.

Frequently Asked Questions
What trims are available on the 2026 Ford F-350?
The 2026 F-350 is offered in XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims. Limited is not part of the current lineup.
What engines are available in the 2026 F-350?
Depending on configuration, the 2026 Super Duty offers a 6.8L gas V8, 7.3L gas V8, 6.7L Power Stroke diesel, and High-Output 6.7L Power Stroke diesel.
How much can a 2026 Ford F-350 tow?
Maximum towing depends heavily on configuration. Properly equipped F-350 DRW models can reach up to 38,000 pounds of gooseneck towing capacity, while the rating of an individual truck may be considerably lower.
Is the F-350 available with dual rear wheels?
Yes. The F-350 is available in both single-rear-wheel and dual-rear-wheel configurations. DRW models are worth considering when your work requires higher payload or towing capability.
Is Tremor a 2026 F-350 trim?
No. Tremor is an available off-road package rather than a separate trim level. For 2026, the Tremor package is also available with the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel.
Should I buy an F-250 or F-350?
That depends on your load. If the F-250 provides enough payload and towing capacity for what you actually carry, it may be all the truck you need. The F-350 makes more sense when heavier trailers, higher payload requirements, or dual-rear-wheel configurations become part of the equation.
Does Ken Ganley Ford Norton sell commercial F-350 trucks?
Yes. Ken Ganley Ford Norton has a dedicated commercial vehicle operation and carries Ford Super Duty and other work-truck configurations. Current inventory changes regularly, so check the live commercial inventory or contact our team about a particular setup.
