2023 Ford Ranger
For all the utility of a full-sized pickup without a large footprint, take a look at the 2023 Ford Ranger. The best-in-class maximum payload capacity allows you to pull more than any other small pickup. Here are the best features of the 2023 Ford Ranger.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
For 2023, Ford has three trim levels for the Ranger: XL, XLT, and LARIAT. You can opt for either a SuperCab for an extended cab with a 6-foot bed or a SuperCrew for a crew cab with a 5-foot bed to further customize your Ranger. The base XL rolls down the road on 16-inch steel wheels and has a manually locking tailgate. If you move up to the XLT, the wheels are upgraded to 17-inch alloy wheels. You can also access the Black and Sport Appearance packages. Manual-folding heated outside mirrors are also available on this trim level.
Finally, with the LARIAT, you get LED headlights, taillights, and fog lights. For both the XLT and the LARIAT, you can choose the Tremor Off-Road package, which has side steps, underbody skid plates, and 32-inch all-terrain tires for better off-road performance.
Engine (Power)
One engine powers all three trims of the 2023 Ford Ranger. You get a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that churns out 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Ranger is an excellent combination of fuel efficiency and performance with a zero-to-60 time in under seven seconds and an EPA-estimated 26 mpg highway.
Performance
All trims of the 2023 Ford Ranger come with rear-wheel drive. If you need to tow more, handle challenging terrain, and tackle inclement weather, go with the available four-wheel drive. The best-equipped Rangers have a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds and a maximum payload capacity of 1,905 pounds. If you go with the Tremor Off-Road package, you get a higher ground clearance of up 9.7 inches, a revised suspension, and FOX shocks for an improved off-road experience.
Interior
Slide behind the wheel of the 2023 Ford Ranger, and you'll find a cabin that's comfortable and convenient. Starting with the base-level XL, you get a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 3.5-inch center display, a four-speaker sound system, and one USB port. Optional features for the XL include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry, a SYNC 3 infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a larger 8-inch touchscreen display, a six-speaker stereo system, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
If you move up to the XLT, you get the larger 8-inch touchscreen standard, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Technology package also gets you navigation. Finally, the upscale LARIAT has upgrades such as leather upholstery and an upgraded 10-speaker premium Bang & Olufsen system.
Safety Features
An advanced airbag system and forward collision mitigation are standard safety features for all 2023 Ford Rangers. You also get the Ford Co-Pilot360 package, which has automatic forward emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Finally, optional safety features include front and rear parking sensors and adaptive cruise control if you go with the upper two trims.
