When shopping for the 2023 Ford Maverick, you can choose from three trims: XL, XLT, and Lariat. Every truck has the same 4-foot-6-inch bed. Despite its small size, the bed has several key design features to maximize its space, such as storage compartments and multiple tie-downs. You can also secure the tailgate down in a halfway position or leave it fully opened or closed. Two appearance packages are available: the Black Appearance, which adds a black grille, door handles, and mirrors, and the Tremor, which includes a dark gray roof, door handles, and mirrors.

All trims of the 2023 Ford Maverick have two powertrain options. The standard powertrain is a hybrid with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor for a combined 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque. This hybrid engine uses a continuously variable automatic transmission. The no-cost upgrade on all trims is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that gets 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. This engine option uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. The truck comes standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive and advanced four-wheel drive are available with certain configurations.

The 2023 Maverick achieves the best fuel economy of any non-EV pickup truck. Expect to get an EPA-estimated 42 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway with the hybrid engine or 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway with the EcoBoost engine and front-wheel drive. When fully equipped with the 4K Tow package, the truck has a maximum towing capacity of 4,000 pounds and a payload capacity of 1,500 pounds. Two off-road packages are also available. The FX4 Off-Road package includes an upgraded suspension system, hill descent control, tow hooks, and off-road drive modes. The brand-new Tremor Off-Road package provides a twin-clutch locking rear differential.

The four-door 2023 Maverick comes standard with cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats. On upper trims, you can opt for synthetic leather upholstery, a power-adjustable front seat, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. Even taller riders benefit from plenty of headroom and legroom. Its easy-to-use infotainment system is accessible via an 8-inch touchscreen display. A simple menu layout makes it convenient to click on the large icons, but you can also use the nearby knobs and controls to alter the audio and climate settings. Standard features also include two USB ports, Bluetooth, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

Every 2023 Ford Maverick comes equipped with a handful of safety features, many of which are part of the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite. Some of these features include forward automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and forward collision warning. The truck has a few available driver-assistance features including rear parking sensors, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with lane centering.
